K. Yasin Moon-Smith is an author and literacy advocate. I love to make reading fun, I write stories inspired by my two kids, my daughter Kye and my son Michael. I started writing poems as a teen and had dreams of stardom. When I became a Mother, it was magical to bring to life stories I told my daughter at bedtime. Peter the Snake, which is now "What's for Dinner Peter?" was her most requested bedtime story. Now when my children become parents, they can read it to their children, how wonderful. " To Catch a Butterfly A Butterflies Life Cycle, my first published book, was inspired by poetry and is about reaching your dreams; it also introduces young minds to phonics and science. I now have four published books and could not be more excited about them. Born and raised in Flint, Michigan, (shout out to my hometown Flint). I graduated from the University of Michigan and currently live in Lathrup Village, Michigan with my husband Michael and two children.
